IBM WATSON MAKES ITS DEBUT AT THE US OPEN
As part of its big push in the AI space, IBM made sure to give tennis fans a glimpse at what IBM Watson is capable of to enhance the fans sports experience. This time, IBM’s SlamTracker analytics technology was available on mobile devices for the first time at the U.S. Open. IBM Watson was able to access 41M data points collected over the past eight years of Grand Slam tennis and let fans analyze current and historical player, match and tournament data, including a baseline for “pressure situations.” Through IBM Watson, fans were also able to ask questions about the venue, food locations, get directions and more. Of note, IBM Watson was also used at the Master's golf tournament earlier this year.
